OR Nurses Prevent Back Pain, These Handles Show You

Low back muscle exercise can improve low back muscle tension, correct abnormal force line, increase ligament elasticity, and maintain the normal shape of the spine.
There is no clear six movements for low back muscle exercise, and the commonly used clinical methods are five-point support method, three-point support method and flying swallow style.  


First of all, lumbar back muscle exercise ensures the stability of lumbar spine, adjusts and strengthens the patient's lumbar back muscle strength, restores the disordered spinal mechanics and maintains the exogenous stability of lumbar spine. Secondly, lumbar back muscle exercise can relieve muscle spasm and reduce pain. Lumbar back muscle exercise allows patients to perform muscle exercise in bed, preventing the occurrence of local muscle wasting changes. Finally, lumbar back muscle exercise can also improve local blood circulation, reduce the accumulation of inflammatory pain-causing substances and metabolites, accelerate the repair of local injuries, alleviate the adhesion of nerve roots and dura mater, correct lumbar scoliosis and restore physiological curvature.

Indications and contraindications of lumbar back muscle exercise
Lumbar back muscle exercise has many benefits, but before performing lumbar back muscle exercise need to carry out scientific assessment, strictly grasp the indications and contraindications.
Indications: lumbar muscle strain, mild lumbar disc herniation, rheumatic myofibrositis, degenerative osteoarthritis of the spine, 3rd lumbar transverse process syndrome, ankylosing spondylitis.

Contraindications: early postoperative stage of lumbar spine, tearing of ligaments, muscles, joint capsules, acute herniated or prolapsed intervertebral discs, thoracolumbar spine fracture.
It is important to note that the indications and contraindications for lumbar and back exercises are not absolute and unchanging. In addition, incorrect exercises not only fail to strengthen the body and prevent diseases, but also aggravate the existing conditions. Therefore, it is recommended that exercises be performed under the supervision of a spinal surgeon or other specialist.   
    
Movements
Five-Point Support
Lie on your back, bend your knees, use your heels, elbows and head as the fulcrum, lift your pelvis, try to level your abdomen and hip joints, stay at the highest place for 15-20s, then slowly lower it, and drop it together for once.

Three-Point Support Method
Lie on your back, bend both elbows against the chest, use both feet and pillow as the fulcrum, make the waist leave the bed, stay at the highest place for 15-20 seconds, then slowly lower it down, together with one fall for one time.

Flying Swallow Pose   
Prone position, with the abdomen as the fulcrum, hands backstretched, knees straight, at the same time the head, neck, shoulders, chest, waist and lower limbs try to pick up the backstretching, so that the body is up at both ends of the flying swallows, stay at the highest place for 15-20 seconds, and then slowly put it down, together and down as a time.

Through scientific and reasonable low back muscle exercise, it can effectively enhance the patient's low back muscle strength, significantly improve the toughness of the low back, regulate the muscle tension, significantly improve the stability of the spinal joints, and at the same time, improve the spinal small joints to withstand the abnormal stress, reduce the intervertebral disc force.
