On February 23, the world's first cardiovascular multimodal digital operating room was inaugurated at Fu Wai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.

For the first time in the world, Fu Wai Hospital's multimodal digital operating room realizes real-time fusion and analysis of image data from DSA, CT and ultrasound, breaking through the long-standing data barriers.
The one-stop combined composite operating room can realize one-stop pre-operative diagnosis, intra-operative decision-making and treatment as well as timely and accurate post-operative evaluation, expanding the indications for cardiovascular surgery, enriching the surgical modalities, and fusing surgical data and presenting them in the form of media-free holography. The media-free holography technology is able to utilize microchannel matrix optical waveguide components to recombine optical information from the light source in the air to create interactive naked-eye 3D images.
Through real-time 3D imaging, precise surgical navigation system and advanced data analysis technology, the multimodal digital operating room empowers the operator to rotate and flip the holographic image visible to the naked eye with no contact with the physical object during the surgery, which can truly realize "seeing while doing" and "combining the real and the virtual". "It is a model of applying "virtual reality" to the cardiovascular field.
