1. Wearing sterile surgical gowns
(1)Preparation of items: Front crossed gown (or back wrapped gown), sterile gloves.
(2) Operation steps
① Candidates should routinely wash their hands and disinfect before dressing. The traveling nurse opens the sterile surgical bag.
② Candidates should take the folded sterile surgical gown from the instrument table, grasp the middle of the gown with their hands and pick it up, taking care not to contaminate the gown below. Keep away from the chest, operating table and other personnel, identify the front and back of the gown and the top and bottom.
③Gently shake the gown open by lifting the two ends of the gown collar with both hands, with the side with the belt facing outward and the inner side of the gown facing you.
④Toss the surgical gown upward slightly and insert both hands into the sleeves at the same time in a homeopathic manner, holding the hands straight out in front of you, not high above the shoulders.
⑤Tying the collar: The traveling nurse will hold the inner side of the collar behind the candidate's back and gently pull back to assist in dressing, so that both hands extend the cuffs and tie the back of the collar.
⑥Tying the belt: The operation method of the foliate surgical gown is different from that of the wrap-back surgical gown.
The candidate leans forward slightly so that the belt dangles from the gown, crosses his hands, lifts the left and right belts and sends them slightly backward, and hands them to the traveling nurse to fasten them behind him.
The candidate should wear sterile gloves and untie the waist belt by himself/herself after the roving nurse has assisted in tying the back of the collar, and hand the end of the belt to the roving nurse who will hold the belt with sterile holding forceps. The candidate turns around and the surgical gown surrounds his or her back. The candidate catches the lap belt and ties it around his or her waist by himself or herself.
Attention:
①Take the gown one piece at a time, not just grab the collar and drag the gown out of the sterile surgical bag.
②When dressing, hands should not be raised above the head or stretched to the sides, otherwise the hands will be out of the field of vision and easily touch the unsterilized items.
③The ungloved hand must not touch the front of the surgical gown, let alone inserting the hand into the chest pocket.
④When passing the girdle, the hand cannot come into contact with the hand of the person assisting in dressing.
⑤ The sterile area after the surgical gown is put on --- below the shoulder to the chest above the waist, between the mid-axillary line on both sides and between the hands and arms.
⑥Wrapped back type surgical gown is a triangular towel added to the back of the folio type surgical gown, which can wrap the operator's back after wearing to reduce the chance of intraoperative contamination.
(7) Wearing front crossed surgical gown --- first wear surgical gown → then tie the belt (others tie) → finally wear gloves.
(8) Wearing a back-wrapped surgical gown --- first wear the gown → then wear gloves → finally wear the belt (tie it yourself).
Candidates are prone to make mistakes
① before putting on the surgical gown, lift the collar is not the collar --- should first see . Then lift the collar.
②Shake open the surgical gown for short candidates, so that the clothes touch the ground.
The belt should be tied by a visiting nurse when wearing a pair of surgical gowns. The candidate's hands are crossed and the belt is not crossed when handing the belt.
2、Wearing sterile gloves
(1)Operation steps
① Select gloves After putting on the sterile surgical gown, select the appropriate size of gloves. Men generally choose 7 yards of gloves, hands a little larger, can choose 7.5 yards of gloves. Women with small hands can choose 6.5 yards or 6 yards of gloves.
② Open the glove package Open the glove package, take out the gloves, check whether the thumbs of the two gloves are relative. Note: The hand without gloves is only allowed to touch the outward-folded part of the glove opening, not the outside of the glove.
③ Wear gloves left hand pinch the glove flap, have the hand to align the glove five fingers inserted to wear. Temporarily do not deal with the right hand gloves folded part. The right hand that has worn gloves, in addition to the thumb, the remaining four fingers inserted into the left glove inside the folded part of the side. Insert the left hand into the glove. First, turn the left glove flap back onto the surgical gown cuff, and then insert the left finger of the gloved hand into the right glove flap to turn the flap back onto the right surgical gown cuff.
After wearing gloves, place both hands on the chest to prevent contamination.
(2) Precautions
①Order During the examination, candidates are generally required to wear dry gloves. Therefore, you must wear a sterile surgical gown first, and then wear sterile gloves.
②Selection of gloves If you are only required to wear sterile gloves during the examination, without any sterile operation, you can choose a slightly larger glove, so that it is easy to put on. But if you have to wear gloves after the aseptic operation, you should choose the right size gloves, which is conducive to the operation later. Because the gloves are too big, it will seriously affect the aseptic operation.
③ Strictly aseptic operation In the process of wearing gloves, if the gloves are contaminated then points will be deducted.
④Should be proficient Wearing sterile gloves is often one of the preparations for many aseptic operations, such as thoracentesis, laparotomy, lumbar puncture, bone marrow puncture, etc. Gloves should be worn routinely before the operation, therefore, should be proficient in order to save time for the subsequent operation.
Candidates are prone to make mistakes
① The gloves are contaminated when opening the inner package of gloves.
②The hand without sterile gloves touches the outside of the gloves.
③Before bringing gloves, the hands are sweaty, making it difficult to put on the gloves, or even tearing them.
