Penicillin is the drug of choice for the treatment of Streptococcus A infections, but due to the recent surge in cases resulting in shortages, the British government issued a "critical shortage agreement" for penicillin on the 15th. According to the "severe shortage agreement", pharmacists can directly prescribe alternative drugs when there is no specified drug.
