The occurrence of infusion reaction is also common in clinical work, today I will talk with you about this so-called infusion and infusion reaction.

Intravenous infusion: This is a means of injecting large amounts of sterile fluids, electrolytes and therapeutic drugs into the body through the body's venous blood vessels using atmospheric pressure and a sterile syringe.

What are the advantages?
1. The ability to achieve the concentration of the drug at the desired therapeutic effect and to maintain the concentration of the drug continuously until the desired therapeutic effect is achieved;
2. Drugs that irritate muscles and subcutaneous tissues can be administered intravenously;
3. they can be used relatively quickly to replenish the body's missing fluids or blood;
4. patients who cannot be nourished via enteral nutrition can be given an infusion of nutrients through the vein.

What are the ways of giving fluids intravenously?
1. Closed intravenous technique: the injection is administered using the original closed syringe, which is relatively easy to use and helps to reduce environmental pollution.
2. Open infusion method: this method can flexibly change the type and quantity of infusion, and can give patients the appropriate medication according to the changes in their conditions.
3. Intravenous needle: it can be mainly used for patients with long-term intravenous treatment, elderly patients and patients who have difficulty in vascular puncture.
4. Subclavian vein puncture cannulation method: subclavian vein is full, thick, fast blood flow, easy to puncture.
5. External jugular vein puncture cannulation: the external jugular vein is shallower and more fixed in position.
