Break time, and nursing sisters have no intention to talk about the method of surgical sheet, we have a different point of view, opposing divided into two groups, the first group think that the method of sheet should be (open abdominal surgery as an example): first around the incision to lay four pieces of therapeutic towel, and then the upper and lower two pieces of the sheet, the surgeon again hand disinfection, wear sterile surgical gowns, wear sterile gloves and then lay the hole towel. The second group's view is: first lay four treatment towels around the incision, then, the surgeon hand sterilizes again, puts on the sterile surgical gown, wears the sterile gloves, and then lays the middle sheet and the cavity towel. The two groups of people expressed their own views on the discussion is very lively. Principles of surgical sheet-laying (taking open abdominal surgery as an example)
1. The scope of the sheet spreading
1.1 Both to reveal the surgical incision, but also to minimize the exposure of the skin around the incision
1.2 Surgical incision towel is laid within 2~3cm from the surgical incision.
1.3 The surgical sheet should cover the anesthetic head holder at the upper head end and the instrument tray at the lower foot end.
1.4 The surgical sheet should be draped to the left and right edges of the surgical bed for more than 30cm.
2. Key points of operation
2.1 When passing the surgical incision towel, the surgeon's hand without sterile gloves should not touch the hand of the nurse who washes her hands.
2.2 After the surgeon spreads the incision towel, he/she again disinfects the surgical hands, wears the sterile surgical gown and gloves, and then spreads the sterile surgical sheet with the nurse who washes his/her hands at the other (its) level.
2.3 The hand-washing nurse passes the surgical sheet by holding the corner of the sheet, turning it inward to cover the back of the hand, and not exposing it to the outside of the sheet.
2.4 Do not touch the sterile gown below the operator's waist when opening the sterile surgical sheet.
2.5 Do not move the sterile surgical sheet that has been placed at random, if you need to move only to the outside of the incision.
2.6 should follow the principle of first dirty and then clean: first lay the relatively unclean area (such as the lower abdomen, perineum), and finally lay close to the operator's side.
3. Cotton sheet operation points
3.1 incision towel (therapeutic towel or hole towel): four pieces of therapeutic towel to cover the incision around the corner of the fixed. You can also lay down one rectangular hole towel at a time to form a sterile area.
3.2 Lay the surgical sheet: follow the principle of laying the head side first and then the foot side, cover the anesthesia head frame and foot side, and drape it to the left and right bed edges of the surgical bed more than 30cm.
3.3 Cover at least 4~6 layers of sterile surgical sheets around the surgical incision and instrument trays, and at least two layers for other parts.
4. Precautions on sheet-laying
4.1 Surgical sheet preparation should follow the principle of aseptic technique.
4.2 Cloth sheet spreading Incision sheet spreading 1/3 folded edge to ensure the number of layers of surgical sheet spreading; around the surgical incision to ensure 4~6 layers of coverage.
4.3 Instruments and equipment used in the sterile area, such as the C-arm, need to be added to the sterile surgical sheet or protective cover, removed after use.
4.4 When the sterile surgical sheet is suspected to be contaminated or wetted by liquid, it should be covered or replaced in time.
