Similar to the mask material we mentioned before, many medical isolation suits and protective suits are made of polypropylene non-woven fabric.
Are there standards for yellow, white, blue and dark blue protective clothing, isolation clothing and surgical clothing? Are the material requirements the same? What tests need to be done?
Relevant standards for medical protective clothing
In China, the corresponding standard for medical protective clothing is the National standard GB 19082-2009 technical Requirements for Medical Disposable Protective Clothing, which not only stipulates the appearance of protective clothing, The liquid barrier function, filtration performance, microbial index, residual amount of ethylene oxide, wearing performance and comfort performance of protective clothing are also strictly stipulated.
The above indicators are directly related to the protective effect of liquid barrier function and filtration performance, are to prevent virus transmission, in order to achieve the purpose of protection. Medical protective clothing is very tightly woven and has very small pores, which can play an effective protective effect. The classification standard of protective clothing in China is YY/T 1499-2016 Medical Protective Clothing liquid Barrier Performance and Classification, which divides medical protective clothing into 4 levels. The higher the level, the better the protective performance. In addition, medical protective clothing to meet the standards, also need to be tested by testing institutions.
The AAMI standard specification, issued by the United States, classifies the protective properties of surgical gowns:
Protective grade of surgical clothing
Level 1 medical textile products must pass Impact Penetration waterproof test with water Penetration less than 4.5g.
The second stage (Level 2) must be tested by impact seepage waterproofing and hydrostatic pressure. The water seepage of the former must be less than 1.0g, and the hydrostatic pressure of the latter must be greater than 20 cm H2O.
For the third stage (Level 3), the water seepage must be less than 1.0g, and the hydrostatic test must be more than 50 cm H2O;
Level 4 (Level 4) For surgical clothing or other protective clothing, two tests of blood and virus leakage must be passed. The water repellent of surgical clothing and sheet shall be kept at 13.8kPa (equivalent to 140 cm H2O) for 1 minute. Synthetic blood shall not be permeable.
