During the surgical process, when the integrity of the skin is disrupted, microorganisms can enter the internal tissues and cause contamination. To prevent contamination of surgical wounds, the principle of sterile surgery must be followed, otherwise it will increase the risk of infection or disease in infected animals.
Today, let's introduce how to prepare a surgical bag:
Before packaging, the instruments should be placed separately according to the order used by the surgeon. For the selection of packages, you can choose according to different needs. Table 1 lists the advantages and disadvantages of commonly used packaging materials.
Equipment packaging
The packaging of instruments should follow the principle of being easy to open and not damaging the sterile state.
A. Place the equipment on a clean towel and prepare for packaging. Place a large, unfolded package in front of you, place the instrument tray in the center, and cover one side of the tray with a towel along its long axis.
B. Fold the single corner of the package under the instrument tray close to oneself, pointing towards its distant edge. The corner line of the package is lifted upwards for easy opening.
C. Fold the right corner on the package.
D. Fold the left corner in the same way.
E. Flip the package and fold the last corner of the package on the tray, gently folding it under the previous two fold layers.
F. Pack the package with a second layer of cloth in the same way. Attach a masking tape and a thermal sensitivity indicator tape to the last corner of the outer layer of the package.
Folding and packaging of surgical gowns
The folding of surgical clothing must be easy to wear and not violate the principle of sterility.
A. Place the surgical uniform on a clean and flat surface. Fold the sleeves neatly towards the center of the surgical gown, with the cuffs facing the lower part of the gown.
B. Fold both sides of the surgical gown towards the center, aligning the edge seams with the sleeve seams.
C. Fold the surgical uniform in half vertically (with sleeves folded into the garment).
D. Fold from the bottom towards the neck.
E. Fold the tissue in half first, and then fold it in half based on this. Place it on the top of the folded surgical gown and flip one corner of the tissue outward for easy use.
F. Pack the surgical uniform and tissue with 2 layers of paper or cloth.
Folding and packaging of tissue
The folding of the wound tissue should facilitate the positioning of the surgical window without contaminating the wound tissue.
A. Open the surgical wound tissue and lay it flat. The long axis of the window opening area of the tissue is placed parallel to the body.
B. Fold the wound tissue close to the body side parallel to the window opening.
C. Flip the tissue over and fold the other side in the same way.
D. Fold one end of the tissue towards the center (with fingers passing through the window opening); Repeat the operation on the other side.
E. If the bandage has been folded properly, the opening of the bandage is located exactly in the middle of the abdominal side.
F. Fold the towel in half and pack it with 2 layers of paper or cloth.
