Nursing points of urinary catheter
1. During the activity, the urinary tube shall be properly fixed. At the same time, the height of the drainage bag shall be lower than the height of the urethra. Otherwise, the urinary tube may be pulled and painful, or the position of the urinary tube and the urinary bag may be too high and cause urine reflux;
2. Use disinfectant to disinfect the urethral orifice. Generally, use iodophor solution to disinfect 1-2 times a day. The disinfection process covers the area around the urethral orifice, glans or female urethral orifice;
3. The drainage bag of the catheter needs to be replaced every 1 week, while the catheter needs to be replaced every 2-4 weeks or so;
4. For intermittent bladder flushing, sterile normal saline can be used for intermittent bladder flushing, and the bladder flushing should be conducted once every 2-3 days. In ordinary times, more water is required during the indwelling of urinary catheter. The daily diet is recommended to be greater than 2000ml;
5. If it is found that the urine color in the catheter is turbid or abnormal, it needs to be treated in a timely manner in the hospital, and if necessary, drugs to prevent infection should be given for treatment.
