Key points of home care
1. Cleaning
Wash the vulva with lukewarm water every day, keep the skin around the urethra and catheter clean and dry, and forbid taking a bath.
2. Change the catheter frequently
Keep the drainage closed, and change the urinary catheter and urine collection bag regularly.
3. Drink plenty of water and urinate regularly.
Drink plenty of water, it is recommended to drink about 1500ml~2000ml of water per day to achieve the purpose of diligent urination and natural flushing of the urinary tract. Observe and record the color, nature and amount of urine during catheterization. Seek medical attention if you find any abnormality.
4.Proper fixation
Properly fix the indwelling catheter, avoid pulling, folding and bending, and keep the urine bag lower than the bladder level.
5. Regular clamping
Regular intermittent clamping and intermittent opening will help to maintain bladder contraction and relaxation.
