Common methods of spreading surgical drapes in operating room:
Lay a skin towel
Cover the incision area with 4 sterile towels, also called incision towels.
1) The equipment nurse folds 1/3 of the sterile towel, the folds of the first to third sterile towels face the first assistant, and the folds of the fourth towel faces the equipment nurse himself, and they are passed to the first assistant in order .
2) The first assistant took the folded sterile towels and laid them under and above the incision, and collected and sorted out the contralateral and own sides. The inner edge of each towel is within 3cm from the incision line. If the surgical towel needs a little adjustment, it is only allowed to move from the inside to the outside.
3) Clamp x with cloth pliers at the four corners of the surgical towel to expose the incision. Currently, sterile plastic film is often used in clinical practice. The film still adheres to the edge of the wound after the skin is incised, which can prevent the bacteria remaining on the skin from entering the wound during the operation.
Laying the surgical order
Place two sterile middle sheets on the upper and lower sides of the incision. The draper should take care to avoid touching unsterilized items with his hands or fingers.
Laying the surgical hole sheet
Place the holed laparotomy face to the incision, the short end to the head, the long end to the lower extremity, first upwards and then downwards, respectively unfold, and roll your hands inside the large sheet to avoid contamination. The short end is required to cover the anesthesia rack, and the long end to cover the instrument tray. Both sides and the end of the foot should hang 30cm beyond the edge of the operating table.
