Medical protective clothing includes all kinds of clothing specially worn in medical Settings, so there are many classification methods:

1. By use

It can be divided into daily work clothes, surgical clothing, isolation clothing and protective clothing according to the use and use occasions.

Daily work clothes refer to the white coat that medical staff wear in daily work, also known as the white coat.

A surgical gown is a specially designed garment worn in an operating room.

Isolation clothing refers to the clothing worn by medical staff when they contact patients or family members visit patients.

Protective clothing refers to the clothing worn by personnel in emergency medical treatment, infectious disease areas, electromagnetic radiation areas and other special areas.

2. According to service life

Medical protective clothing can be divided into disposable protective clothing and reusable protective clothing according to service life.

The standard for disposable surgical gowns in China is YY/T 0506-2016 "Surgical Sheets, Surgical Gowns and Clean clothes for Patients, Medical Staff and Instruments", which was issued by China Food and Drug Administration and implemented since January 1, 2017. Medical disposable protective clothing shall comply with the technical requirements of medical disposable protective clothing implemented from March 1, 2010 as specified by Standardization Administration of The People's Republic of China :GB19082-2009.

Disposable protective clothing will be discarded immediately after use without disinfection and washing, which is convenient to use and can avoid cross-infection. However, disposable materials degrade slowly and easily cause environmental pollution. Surgical clothing and isolation clothing with high protective requirements are usually used in this type. The reusable type needs to be washed and high-temperature disinfection after use. The comfort of the material is usually better, but the protective performance is usually poor. The washing and disinfection process will also increase the cost of a lot of manpower and water resources.

3. According to the material

According to the processing technology of different materials, medical protective clothing can be divided into woven and nonwoven protective clothing.
